I had been intending on making photo books for some family members for Christmas. Life got busy, and I didn't get them finished until earlier this week (Monday?) whenever it was that Shutterfly was advertising "last day to receive your order by Christmas Eve with standard shipping"
I ordered 3 books total. 2 of them I paid for standard shipping as shutter fly said that would get them here by Christmas Eve.
The 3rd one I wanted by today, so based on shutterfly's arrival estimate, paid for 2-day shipping.
A couple days ago I got an email that the first two were printed and shipped. The 3rd one I received an email TODAY that it had printed and shipped. With an estimated delivery date of Christmas Eve.
I am so annoyed. I know that shipping dates are just estimates, but the book with 2-day shipping was actually ordered 10 minutes before the others. So why was it printed a couple days later? Because I paid extra for shipping so that they could delay printing and still get it out by Christmas?
I totally feel like I just wasted $10 (difference in shipping between standard and 2 day).
Am I reading too much into this? Anyone else ever notice shutter fly do this?

I've never had this problem but I'd be kinda pissed. Ime, shutter fly has really good customer service, maybe you can call and get the shipping refunded?
I would definitely contact them. I received my photo cards and wasn't happy with the print quality. They credited my account for the amount I paid, no questions asked.
Definitely contact them. But were they all exactly the same - size, etc? I aske because I ordered 3 calendars and 1 desk calendar. Same order. Desk calendar came 2 days earlier than the others. I assume size/type of product plays a role in the speed of output.

That sucks, I would have expected the book ordered first to be printed first as well. And obviously shipped first since you paid for upgraded shopping.
I would call & complain. I've had good luck with their customer service, I expect they'll offer you at least a partial credit.
Thanks guys! Once I have the books in hand, I will call them. (can I embarrassingly admit that I don't know how to use twitter?)
And to answer one of the questions, the book I ordered first, with expedited shipping, was the exact same book as one of the other two (I placed separate orders so that I could use multiple coupons that they wouldn't let me put all on the same order)
