When my sister, mom and I met Julie Andrews on her book tour last year, I brought the kids and I was sad that he only recognized her as Eloise's nanny.
He's watching SOM right now but I'm sure he'll be bored soon!
This was the first movie we ever recorded when I was little.
On Betamax.

Yes! My parents taped it from tv and I didn't see the unedited version til I was in high school. I think it had cut out Rolf being a nazi and I was all shocked. Lol.
I lose it for Captain VonTrapp when they're dancing the ländler. Oh swoon.

Oh yes. This is my favorite.
Toledo, I saw it! I think liesl may have addressed it in her memoir too. Which I also have from a meet and greet she did when I was in college. Marta came too! She lives in the tc. I'm such a nerd.
I feel like they used to show this on NEw Year's Eve a lot. I remember watching, at my Grandma's house in Brooklyn, while my mom went out with her brothers and cousins.
Anyway, I love this movie. Love Christopher Plummer, love Julie Andrews and her amazing, amazing voice and of course, the music.
I love this movie so much, but the end always stresses me out. Them traipsing up the mountain like it's no big deal. No food, no blankets, all the girls are in skirts and dress shoes. No fucking way are they going to make it over those mountains!!!!

I love this movie so much. Christopher Plummer is so hot in it. I'm always a little amused that he refused to talk about it for years and called it "that movie" or something because it was so schmaltzy.
I was so happy when he won an Oscar earlier this year.
