Has anyone heard about the changes to Fed pensions

I believe that change has been on the books for awhile and was just being phased in. It's actually similar to requirements a lot of states have adopted.

I'm still putting 18% into my tsp bc the fers pension won't be much since I plan to go as soon as I can age wise (I'll have 30 years at 53).

I'm really hoping we can bring our intern on full time in 13, and they use her intern SCD, which was in 12.

It's never too late to get in with the government! We've had people come in in their 40s to do 2nd careers.

I know public service gets a lot of flack, but truly for my area it's a great job, stable (well my series), and you can't be the benefits and leave. DH is a contractor and his benefits continue to be more expensive with less coverage year after year.

Most of our lawyers are 15/10s and get bonuses every year.

I made the mistake of looking through the website that publishes fed salaries and bonuses earlier this week.

Ditto bird girl. There are definite downsides. One of them is you aren't allowed to complain bc ppl think fed jobs are so awesome ;-)

Ruby-we got 1% cash this year. No time off for the other 1% like last year.

Next year we're supposed to compete for our bonus, except half of the standards don't apply to 90% of the staff.

Are you still on a pay for performance plan (I know some stuck around even with the death of nsps)?

I'm still a bit bitter on the 25 cent per hour raise for 13. Lol

No, regular GS for us. They phased out NSPS a couple years ago.

I think the only ones left on performance plans are with the AF. Some of their jobs are not GS classified.

Performance demo still exists in the army. My coworkers from my last job are still on it.

Bonuses are pretty rare at my agency. I didn't realize how rare until I poked around the website listing all our salaries. Kind pisses you off when you see who gets bonuses. The 1% stuff sounded kinda like the shares from performance demo. That's why I was asking.
