I used to read her blog sometimes and she came across much better in that format. She is so awkward and almost dorky - she actually reminded me of the "Schwetty Balls" sketch on SNL.
I love her site but I agree that she seems awkward on the show. Granted, I think most of those cooking hosts come across as awkward, so I don't think it is exclusive to Ree.
I find myself actively cringing every time she says, "Now I'll just give this a stir" on the show, and yet I always end up craving whatever she made by the end, so I still watch.

I just watched an episode where she was making Super Bowl food, and was making hot wings for her DH. But she also was making Asian hot wings, and was going to "prank" him by telling him that's all she made because "I'm mischievous like that" and she couldn't wait to see his face when she brought out the real wings, it would be so funny and OMGAWKWARDCRICKETS.
I agree. On another note, I've tried a few of her recipes, and they always come out so badly. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.
What have you made that flopped?
Meatloaf covered in bacon (how can you mess that up? Haha.), chicken spaghetti, her blender hollandaise sauce for eggs benedict. I know there are a couple others, I can't really remember.
I'm not really a fan of anyone on Food Network or PW's blog. Most of her recipes are basic stuff that I learned growing up. I tend to sway more towards blogs that aren't ripped from church cookbooks.
I do understand why people find her appealing though and I give her major props for how far she has came.

I've made the chicken spaghetti but didn't love it. My flop was mac & cheese. It's not just hers though, I tried Angryharpy's recipe too & flop. I suck at making mac & cheese.
My PW successes: strawberry shortcake, blackberry cobbler, olive cheese bread, ranch dressing, cinnamon rolls, egg in the hole, mashed potatoes, pear crisp...
DH liked the lasagna, I thought it was too meaty though. I love the cheese bread, we make that about once a month. I'm actually thinking of getting her new cookbook, I have the first one.

I was with a patient this morning and she was watching this episode and it was so distracting because it was so awkward. I was trying so hard to ignore it & concentrate, but it was such a train wreck.

I read her blog only to see pictures of her cats, her dogs, and that cow that likes to come up to the front porch. I do love her restaurant-style salsa, but it makes more salsa than I could ever use in my lifetime, so I haven't made it in quite a while.
It's so bad I have to turn it off. I like the recipes I've tried but its only been a few. I even thought the chicken spaghetti was good but too much work for my lazy self.

I've never seen the show but I used to see her photos a lot. The only recipe I ever made is her baked French toast and that is one of our favorites for a special occasion. It's so unhealthy though .

The baked French toast is another one of our faves!!
I like her recipes, but her blog annoys me with the bazillion pictures of each and every step. I've only seen the show a couple of times and I didn't love it. I did enjoy the 1st cookbook.

I will chime in that I made her pork loin with cranberry sauce last Christmas and it was amazing. I've only been semi-successful with some of her other recipes.
She is awkward on her show and I used to like her blog, but all the photos slow my computer down something awful.
