I've been prepping my cloth diapers all day. I think I may have gone a little overboard - although not as much as I thought, honestly. Hehe. I have: 3 dozen newborn prefolds 6 infant-sized prefolds converted to fitteds 2 Thirsties wrap covers 1 Bummis cover 1 Thirsties duo 2 Thirsties all-in-one 10 Alvas 2 Sunbabies 12 Kawaii with the heavy duty velcro (daycare diapers) 6 Bumgenius 4.0s (also daycare) 2 Swaddlebees Simplex 5 Grovia AIOs 1 Fuzzibunz Elite Plus the dozen or so used Fuzzibunz at my MILs for repair.
Think I need an intervention. In my defense, I don't know what's going to work, so I'll sell the ones that don't.
Also, we went out for dinner on a mystery shop yesterday, and had to order an alcoholic beverage as part of the instructions. H doesn't drink, so I told him which wine to get and drank some of it. It was just TGIFridays wine... but it tasted pretty darn good. No guilt here!

I am clueless about cloth diapers, so as far as I know, you have everything you need! (does that make you feel better?)
I confess that I don't miss drinking at all, but I would kill for a hero with deli turkey and fresh mozzarella. Sigh. But I won't complain...I am happy all is good so far!
Trimester doesn't matter with listeria. Either you're scared for the duration, or you're not.
I'm so ready to just tell people I'm pregnant, but I don't want it all out there until we have our first u/s on the 22nd of January. So long to wait and just seem really lame for no reason.

You are right, I just tend to be nervous about things by default. I will have a chat with the guy from the cheese shop, he may be using pasteurized milk? That would be awesome!!!
I ate soft cheese and subway sandwiches A LOT. Baby looks fine. I haven't had much alcohol, just some sips of H's beers. I wanted to drink on Christmas, but after the c section scare on the 22nd, I decided not to chance it. I will drink a whole beer on New Years though. I already decided.

I wish DH was open to cloth diapering. He's incredibly grossed out by it. He says the only way he'll consider cloth diapering is if we have a separate washing machine for the diapers, haha.
As far as soft cheeses, just check the ingredients on the label. If the cheese was made with pasteurized milk, it's fine.

He's in for a rude awakening when baby has a poopsplosion and the clothes get washed in your washing machine, then.

Lol! I read your response to DH and he said, "No, they go on the burn pile." What a baby.
I love cloth diapering. Babies are gross no matter what; washing diapers is really not a big deal. If we burned everything that had ever had poop on it, the couch would be up in flames.
Urban cowgirl, DH was really skeptical on cloth because he was imaging he old fashioned ones. We went to a cloth diapering "class" and he got to see them and hear about how it worked and experiences washing, etc and he was totally on board.
Have you talked about all the pros with him (especially money)? We have spent about 350 for a variety of styles and brands of 20 diapers (fuzzibuns, blueberry, Capri, swaddlebees, bonnibuns) and are almost done with our stash (aiming for about 30). That is way cheaper than diapers for 2 years!
I also have found that people like buying cloth diapers in cute prints for the shower.
I'm planning on doing the diaper trial from Jillian's drawers for the newborn phase. 10 bucks for 21 days of diaper use until baby fits in the size 1 and one sizes.
Ooh, a class! That's awesome. If I can't find a class around here, maybe I could put together a PowerPoint presentation about the advantages of cloth diapering.
I could put any cloth diapering confession to shame. I have 30+ fancy print newborn fitteds plus basic diapers plus a bunch of spendy one size fitteds. I am a diaper nutter.
Hehe, I bet I can beat you on that. I just bought a bunch more Grovias on diaperswappers.com. Like 25 of them. But in my defense, they were $10 each! That's more than half off!
I really hope I like Grovias as diapers as much as I like their prints.
