I'm proud of myself for throwing out the Campbell's that expired in 2009 and 2010, but Progresso is expensive!

Yes. They just had a very interesting story about food expiration dates on NPR last week, and after hearing that, I am thoroughly convinced I will never bat an eye at eating canned goods past their date unless the smell is off. I'll see if I can find the link.

Chances are I wouldn't even notice.

A couple of weeks ago I used a sauce in my fridge that said "good until January 2012". For some reason it didn't register until after I used it that that was LAST January, not this coming January.

I'm still alive. I'd eat your soup.

I knowingly ate 6 month old yogurt and (accidentally) ate moldy cheese. I suffered no ill effects. Three month old soup? Without a doubt!

Yeah, no issues there, and I'm kind of a stickler for most dates. Canned goods, I tend to think as long as it's within the last year, I'm good.

I would eat it. It's not too old in canned food days. At work we play a game during lunch where we see who can find the item with the oldest expiration date, our boss still uses shit that expired in 2007. Ugh.
