I need some inspiration. Show or describe to me what you have or want.
For reference:
Bed is on a blank white wall. On each side I have a black and crystal sunburst mirror above each lamp/nightstand. In the middle directly above the bed 4 16x20 frames. One with our wedding pic, the other with our initial. The last 2 have random internet printed crap in them that can go.
Real exciting.
Paint is an option, but it'll be a bit yet. Can't decide what color I want. More focused on artwork at the moment.
Anything vinyl or decal-y is out...the bathroom already has one.
I'm considering doing the bed in some bolder mix and match bedding I have and just taking down the artwork above for awhile at least. I love the mirrors, so they'll be staying.
I really love the "Heart's Reason" print at Ballard, but it's way too much cash at the moment.

You're way ahead of us. Above our bed is absolutely nothing.
If you're wanting to stick with art, what about making either a) photos from around the farm (macros or b&w, maybe?)or b) photos from your favorite vacation spot and having them made into canvases? I've been wanting to do a b&w mountains/snow triptych for a while.

A photo by my crazy ex-roommate. It is of a labyrinth beneath a building in India. It is framed in a frame she dug out of the trash behind the MET in nyc.
That is all we have. I like it simple.
Maybe get rid of the artwork and see if the mirrors are enough?

We have curtains behind our bed. The window isn't centered with our bed so we made a fake window by using an extra panel and putting the rod the width of our bed. I love the texture it adds personally. Before that we had a large print centered with sconces on each side.
we're old school with the artwork over the bed, as it is a 5' long wrought iron piece. it has a good peak to it and works well w/the vaulted ceiling in our master.

I did the curtain trick in my old house. It was during the Laura Ashley Era. The plaster was poorly executed in that room and the panels hid the bowing of the wall. I added a padded headboard and it was adorable.
In my current house I have a king poster bed with a large print done by DH's old painting teacher. I don't love it, but DH was thrilled when I gave it to him. I also have wall mounted reading lamps on either side of the bed.
I need to paint, too. But first there's wallpaper to scrape. 14 x 25' room- not looking forward to it.
We have one of the pictures from our engagement above our bed. It is a black and white photo of the two of us with a wide white mat and elaborate black frame.
We have a short and wide print that my SIL gave us. It isn't permanent but it is something for now. I would really love to do a collage of frames and pictures that I've taken.
LOL. That rocks! Love it! It's kind of the look I have going on now with the frames. I haven't decided if the frames are too much for me or I just hate what's in them..lol.

I might do this actually. Let the mirrors and the sides be the focal point instead of above. I just worry it'll seem like big open space. Our headboard is kind of low and non descript so I feel like it needs something. Our ceilings are just normal height though..so it's not too huge of an expanse.
Or I might center the two pictures I do like over the sides and move the mirrors to the middle.
For some reason I feel a little embarrassed posting this (I am not confident in my ability to decorate!)
But we have 3 pieces there.... the middle is a wooden plaque that says "The best place to be is together" and then DH thought it would look nice to put the two wrought iron pieces next to it. Still not sure how I feel about it.... but this is what's above our bed....
