I just have some random questions.
1. I noticed that DS has a molar that is partly out. His sleep has been crap. How long do molars take to come in? If one is coming out does that mean all of his first molars are making their way out? Should I just keep giving motrin at bed? It has already been a week and I guess I just feel weird about pumping him full of motrin for so long.
2. I also wonder if his sleep issues are partly to due with separation anxiety. He just turned 14 months and has been super clingy lately. Is this a normal time to start this? He learned to say "up" and now seriously won't let me put him down, he doesn't seem to want to do independent play anymore and will no longer go to strangers.
Also, since he was 6 months he has gone down awake. Now he starts screaming if I move away from his crib. The other night I hung out in his room and for 30 minutes he just popped his head up to make sure I was there and then laid back down. Is this just something he has to get over? Any tips?
3. He has also started to lift up/pull down my shirt when he wants to BF. Which lately has been ALL THE TIME (for whatever reason). Any tips on how to teach him not to do this, it can be kind of umm awkward in public. Right now I say no thank you, and put my shirt back but he has a hissy fit.

DS2 just got his top two molars. They came out within a week of each other. He also had a sinus infection, ear infection, and bronchiolitis in the last two weeks so he's had a good deal of motrin recently. Once they pop, I think the pain is less and I'd try not giving it to see if it makes a difference. We've been doing modified Ferber when he's not sick (he flips if we check in on him, so we've just been letting him cry after we check in on him once and he's usually down in under 5 minutes) and he's been going down awake at night and only crying a little for naps.
I'm not sure on the separation anxiety or the bf-ing. We're down to nursing 3x/day (at bedtime, 1-2 overnight, and sometimes before a nap).
My kid has been a molar-getting mess since the beginning of November when the first tiny bit of one popped through. The last of the four is just now almost all the way through, and the 4 canines that came with it are almost done cutting in. So a ridiculously long-ass time for us. I hate molars.
The separation anxiety is normal at that age I think. I tried to introduce a lovey. It failed but that's what people told me to do. And a night light is good because they start to be afraid of things around 15 months and get all weird about random things, like towels hung over the railing.

DD2 is just about 17 months and we've been dealing with similar issues lately (well, minus the BFing one). She cut both of her top molars over Thanksgiving and it was horrible. We had one night where she was awake from 2 am until 6:30 am. Then, she started cutting a few other top teeth and caught a bad cold at the same time. For 2 weeks, she would scream her head off at bedtime unless DH or I laid down on her bedroom floor until she feel asleep. She'd do the same thing your son is where she peeks up at us and then puts her head back down as long as she sees that we're still there.
She's also been very clingy. She would literally throw her arms around my legs at times and not let go. This would result in me practically dragging her around the house to try to get my legs free. She's also scream if I walked out of whatever room she was in. It was rough.
Things are starting to just now get back to normal at bedtime although we had a horrible night with her last night (up from 1:30 am to 6 am). We think she's cutting her bottom molars now :-(

Ugh ds does the grabbing on to my legs thing too! Drives me insane. He learned how to say up too so he just locks on to me and says "up up up!"
So no secret amazing advice huh? I just need to wait out I think his schedule is all messed up due to traveling too sigh.
