I ended up buying a Boba Air carrier with Amazon GCs C got for Christmas, and it came today and I freaking adore it.
It's super light, folds into a teeny bag that I can easily stash in the diaper bag, and is just much more low-profile than the Ergo. There's no padding in the straps but they're still very comfortable. C is snug as a bug and napping in it right now! Plus, since it's just plain black, it's cuter than my Ergo (I have navy with a weird plaid shade I got for cheap on Babysteals) and H will happily wear it too. AND it's cheaper than the Ergo by half--I got mine for $58.50 on Amazon.
Anyway, highly recommend for anyone looking to add a great portable carrier to their registry or stash!
Thanks for the rec, I'm considering that one too. My ergo is so bulky, and carrier part itself is short. Like half of DS's body hangs out the top of it, I don't feel it holds him in very well at all. I've read that Boba is better in that respect. And I love the idea of keeping it in the diaper bag.

I tried one on at our local cloth diaper store. I was disappointed it was not more comfortable. Since there is not as much adjustability it was just hitting my shoulder blades weird. I was sad, I really wanted to like it since it folds up so small. Glad you find it comfortable!
