Kitchen lighting help with PIPs (I hope)

I may need to edit as this is my first go around with PIPs..

This is our kitchen. (Backsplash and wall treatment to come..)



As you can see there is wiring for a light over the sink. We previously had a pendant light that was hanging too low. It had a metal arm so it was either way too high or way too low. The kitchen is open to the living room but there are no stools--the living room is too narrow, so I don't think an island fixture would look right...



I thought about not putting one up at all, but it's a little dark without it. In the breakfast nook area we have this:



So I want them to compliment each other. Any ideas??

I'd see about having a can light installed. It would give you might without being in the way, and it wouldn't detract from the other lights there.

I'm not a fan of having a chandelier like that there.

My first thought was a drum light.

(The last one says mini, but the diameter is 13" which would be a good size for that area. Not sure about the finish though. May be too gold).
