My MM self is getting the best of me. My oven which we had bought 7 years ago when we bought the house, the heat settings are all f'ed up (mind u it was a cheap ass stove 125 bucks..) and I can't bake really anything in it, since it will burn within like 5-10 minutes. Stove top is fine..I probably can get away with stove top and my grill for a few months, would you wait it out? I have the money, just hate to just pull the trigger, keep thinking about other expenses this house will need, since the lovely pipes in the bathroom have gone through the wall..so now I have to redo that..
Part of me tells me to wait it out, since the bathroom will prob have some sort of snag, last bedroom we discovered mold covered up by sheet rock and fire damage..so not as cheap as we thought.
I went without an oven for about 6 months. The stove top still worked and I used the grill. It wasn't a huge deal to me because it was summer time and we don't bake much in the summer. If you'll be able to manage without it for a period of time I would wait until you finish with the bathroom.
What is the significance of the few months' time frame? Will there be an oven sale then? Are you moving? Will replacing it leave you flat broke but you'll be able to save up the money in a few months? If none of these or any other compelling reasons exist, then go ahead and do it. There will always be something else to fix when you own a house; if we waited to fix things just in case something else needed fixing, our house would have fallen apart by now.
ETA: Oh it's because you're in the middle of a bathroom reno? If you can afford to finish it and buy the new stove, then go ahead. If not, then wait. I could live without an oven for a few months. We have a toaster oven, and you can use a grill or a crock pot much like an oven.
Buy a new one. I don't understand really, why you would wait if you have the money. It's the holiday season so I bet you could find a deal tomorrow. It's also a time when stores refresh inventory. Maybe you could get a deal on a floor model at Home Depot or Lowes.

Won't leave us broke or anything, my house is in constant repair as well..I was taking a shower a month ago, and the major pipe went through the wall, so yea, now the entire bathroom has to be ripped out, but first we gotta put in a toilet downstairs, since we will be without a bathroom upstairs for quite some time due to these issues.
Going to check out the sales, trying to see if can find an oven for under 800. Couldn't of happened at a worse time, its 15 out today and I really don't feel like cooking on the grill.
