Y'all my mom had to put her dog down today

He was in pretty bad shape. He had arthritis and a brain tumor, so they thought. The vet couldn't really do anything else for Toby except give him pain meds. She took him for a walk this morning and could tell he was in a lot of pain and decided it was time. She took him to the vet without telling anyone. The vet was kind enough to sedate Toby in the car while he lay in mom's lap while she talked to him and pet him. Then they took him inside and gave the lethal dose. I didn't even know until just now when I texted her. She's so upset, Toby was her constant companion. But she knows it was the right thing to do to stop his pain.

I loved that little guy so much!!!. I even helped pick him out 8 years ago.

I'm so sorry. My dad had to do a similar thing a couple years ago and he decided to wait until after to tell us.
