No, unless she wants to use paid vacation time. Maybe one day, but think about whether you want to add something to her contract. I would want to limit the total number of funeral days she has per year to three, maybe, so she doesn't take a day for every great uncle.
I might pay 1 day, but otherwise offer her to use vacation. Since I'd have to find alternative care (which isn't available in my area) or take a day off, it would be really tough on me.
Do you give vacation days? We give 2 weeks, but I think both years she's gotten a couple of extra days. I would be fine paying as long as it's vacation days. If you don't give any pd vacation, then I would do at least 2.
Yes. She gets paid vacation. She also has been off since Dec 19 (and got all of that paid but it wasn't considered her vacation time). She has had more than 6 weeks paid for 2012 (combo of her vacation time plus time we didn't need her).
I think I am going to tell her I will pay her for 1 day and then she can either use her vacation for the other days or take it unpaid. I have to pay another person to watch my child, so I don't want to pay her for all of that time plus her regular vacation.
