This doesn't apply here, but I really really think you need to find a sitter you are comfortable with for backup care. I know there have been a few situations lately where you've been SOL because of N being sick and I think it would be really good for your sanity to find someone who could help when your H is out of town.
RSV is really just a cold, when it comes down to it. It's only an issue if his breathing is compromised like the baby you mentioned. Both of my kids have had it many times (including my asthmatic son) and have done fine.
My son had it at the end of November/December and it was not fun. He spent 6 days in the hospital. BUT I have a preemie... full term babies are usually okay and don't have to be hospitalized if they get RSV. So I wouldn't worry about it too much if I were you.
I agree on having good backup care though. It's tough being a working mom and without backup care, I would have been out of a job a long time ago!
