I lied. I checked my pads, and I do have one of the purported natural rubber backed felt pads from rugpadcorner.com under one of mine. No damage to the finish is apparent, and it's been down for several years. They also sell one of the thin waffle ones that they claim is natural rubber and won't harm a finish like the cheapies; I wouldn't use one to protect an expensive rug myself, but it might work for a tufted? Though I am intrigued by your immediate need for them. I'm trying to imagine a scenario in which a rug pad is an emergency LOL. Ordering online would take several days.
As for the scenario - it's not that complicated really...I started to type it out and realized it was going to turn a simple question into a multiple paragraphs post so I deleted it.
Short version is that I can't lift furniture right now. And stuff like the couch and our bed and dressers aren't things that MH can move alone. We've got help lined up for saturday though so we can move back into our bedroom and the living room, but we need the rug pads on hand so the furniture can go on top of the rugs and not have to be re-moved all over again in a week. Getting people to come help us move furniture has turned out to be like pulling teeth. Dumb old friends and families having their own lives...
Oh...and I couldn't order the rug pads online until today because I don't remember what size our rugs are exactly. They've been rolled up in storage for over a year. I'm calling the rug cleaner today to see if they can tell me what size they are so I can send MH to buy the pads after work one day this week. The rug place was closed for the holidays from the saturday before xmas till yesterday.
Ahhh. It all makes sense now. I didn't realize you were redoing the entire house (I've seen the bathroom; gorgeous!). I figured it had something to do with the pregnancy, though I was picturing some sort of militant nesting instinct LOL. Well, maybe you could go without for a little while on that one smaller one and then add a pad once you're back in fighting shape
Oh yup, whole house. We've been living in our basement since June 2011.
I'm thinking the small one i'll order a natural rubber grippy one for the small rug online since that one is easier to maneuver. I can actually carry the rug itself around no problem, though I got scolded for it.
