I'm back in work today and N is back in creche. DH is not back in work until the end of next week, but he has lots to do at home seeing as we are moving this weekend!! Not liking being back, but it has to be done. I will take a week or so off in February I think, when we have to move again!
QOTD: My favourite is a toasted turkey sandwich. Two slices of sliced pan, turkey, little sprinkle of salt, some stuffing and a little bit of roasted ham... Yum!!
I'm on vacation as long as DD is. She doesn't go back until Monday. But, DH went back to the office today after a very lovely week & 1/2 off.
QOTD: Turkey sandwiches with cranberry sauce and stuffing. There's no great art to it, just heaping it all on some bread. But it's just a Thanksgiving thing. Is it common to eat turkey for other holidays? We never did/do.

Morning! I'm still on maternity leave, so it's just another day here, except that H is out of preschool until next Monday. I'm kind of *almost* ready to get back to work, actually. But only kind of and almost.
QOTD: I am so sick of holiday food that I cannot even bring myself to think of any leftovers variations. We're having spaghetti and meatballs tonight!
Morning! I'm back to work. Wednesday is my work-from-home-day though, so I am still in my jammies to keep myself in the good vacation/holiday mood for as long as I can muster up. Tomorrow is my first day back to the office. Not looking forward to that. When will I win that damn lottery so I can just live in my jammies???
QOTD: Turkey soup with stuffing dumplings is a great one, I once came up with an awesome Turkey salad with lots of fresh celery, and a bit of gravy and leftover stuffing mixed in with mayo and such for the salad dressing/base. Otherwise Turkey or ham sandwiches are awesome, and I've been known to use leftover turkey in an artichoke spinach dip to make it extra tasty.
In other words, no not really a favorite recipe
And re turkey for Christmas, my US family does turkey and ham for Christmas. Usually one for Christmas eve and the other for Christmas dinner. (In other words, leftover lunch after Christmas is my favorite, I get to eat everything!) In NL Christmas dinner is subject to fashion, and every few years everybody does turkey for Christmas.

Morning! Today was DH's last day off of work (he took it off), but we still won't be back to the regular routine because the nanny doesn't start again until Monday.
QOTD: Turkey and/or ham is also traditional for xmas in my part of the Midwest. We had a goose this year here in Germany at DH's request, and I found a fried potatoes and leftover goose recipe that was decent. With turkey leftovers I just go with sandwiches, and with ham I love to make spaghetti soup (onions, garlic, mushrooms, ham, spaghetti, egg, and parmesan sprinkled on top).

Morning and happy new year ladies! We're still in Canada until Sunday. It's snowing today, so we will probably go play outside a bit later. QOTD: I love turkey sandwiches, white bread, mayo, salt and pepper, stuffing and I warm up the gravy and pour on top. Yumm Tomorrow we will be having lobster linguini with the leftover lobster from yesterday's meal.
I'm back to the grind, but h is super sick and taking a day off today. I'm not envious of his cold, but pjs and a warm bed sound so nice right now.
Qotd: turkey sandwiches! I love it made on left over rolls with a little cranberry sauce, gravy and (I knoe this is weird) mashed potatoes. Sadly, we didn't have any left overs this year.
Thanks for the turkey education, everyone! We've always had some variation of pork for both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day- either a baked ham or a roast whole pig on a spit (really!) or a lechon (suckling) baked in the oven. I made pork loin this year for the three of us.

Well I haven't had it here, but since I moved after Thanksgiving, in the US my favorite leftover holiday thing is a turkey dish (yeah, I know, but really it is) and I call it a "turkey bowl" and basically it's mashed potatoes, stuffing, shredded turkey, whichever vegetables aren't eaten yet and gravy, all mixed up and heated up. DeLISHious, it's thanksgiving in a bowl.
My parents think I'm crazy and prefer boring sandwiches. But I got the inspiration from KFC when they started doing their bowl thing (which I never actually have had, but I saw the commercials and that was inspiration enough.) It is SO good...
Now you're making me crave it... bad you. Because we have no oven to make turkey. Just shame on you!
H is back to work but my sis (expat living in Rio) is visiting still. Getting back into a routine. And FINALLY not eating chocolate every day.
Two weeks until my due date so I am puttering around the house, cuddling DS a lot (and crying when we read books about boys and their moms) and trying to walk this baby out.
QOTD: sausage stuffing. For breakfast. So, so good. You kinda feel like you're going to have a heartache to start the day but man is it tasty.
