J just decided that now that he can crawl, he will not have his diaper changed. He flips over immediately and tries to crawl away. I moved the changing pad onto the floor, but seriously we just had a hard core wrestling match trying to get him to stay still so i could wipe his butt and get a diaper on. And of course, like any good diaper story, there was poop involved which got all over the changing pad cover and his legs.
Ugh, Liam did this too. It really sucks. For us, it helps when I tickle him because then he laughs and stays on his back. Take diaper off..tickle tickle...wipe..tickle..new diaper while he is squirming away from me. It also helps if I give him a book or something to look at while I change him. Sorry about your poop disaster! Hahah
I know, these diaper changes are getting rough. Solids poop + wiggly baby = disaster waiting to happen. I just give her something I normally don't, like diaper cream to hold onto. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
Oh yes, diaper changes have become a regular disaster around here. It's annoying but it's also pretty funny. And it was LOADS of fun in a public bathroom yesterday!
I put her pants on her face. If she's not wearing pants, I put the wipes on her face. She takes a second to pull them off and then she's happy and plays with the item long enough for me to do what I need to do most of the time.
This has been happening a lot lately with my kids. Ethan's on antibiotics for strep right now and shitting his diapers apart... Then he tries to get away while I'm mid-change, needless to say shit on my hands and white rugs. Also Allison came and put her pajama knee right in his dirty diaper ;D fucking mess!

I have a few things by our changing table to help out. Currently the obsessions that work are a pair of sunglasses, her hair detangler bottle, A&D ointment tube and like Cat, pants on the face. These don't always work.
We have a mobile above the changing table and special toys for diaper changes (things that can get sanitized). It doesn't stop all the rolling, but it does help.
We are done with the changing table because of this. I feel it's not safe anymore! she's so wiggly and she's so freakin STRONG for such a little thing. Grrr. I hate when it's a poo because poo gets everywhere sometimes!

I give Reagan something she isn't supposed to actually have. Usually it's the lid to the coconut oil (we cloth diaper so we use it for diaper cream). That usually keeps her happy long enough to get her changed.

Try giving him a toy or two to play with, that is the only thing that works w/ diaper changes around here, otherwise we have screaming, planking, rolling over, wrestling, the works. Half the time a toy wont work and we have to sing and try to distract him in other ways too. I hate diaper changes! Glad they are happening less frequently now at last :/
We've been using the hairbrush, tickling, blowing raspberries, anything trying to keep her entertained. She can't crawl yet, but screams, and kicks, and full blown meltdown trying to get on her stomach when I try to change her these days. And she's sooo strong. If she gets a hold of the side of the table I need both hands to pry her off.
Yesterday, we had a poopy diaper. While changing she flipped over during the change, smearing poop on her leg and promptly puked all over the table. I had to use a disposable to just end the diaper change which I had in the other room. So I made the split decision to put her in her crib for 0.5sec so I could go grab one, and by the time I made it back she had peed all over her bed. That was a bad diaper change for me.
You definitely win for worst diaper change ever!!
I've been giving him toys since the first wrestling match and that's been helping as long as I'm super speedy with the diapering. And of course it's been all poop all the time today.
