NT scan and bloodwork question

We have our NT scan this Friday. From what they tell me, a doc will look at the scan results and let us know if they see anything abnormal, but that the blood results won't be in for a bit.

Do you recall how long the bloodwork took to come back?

Also, did anyone have a scan that looked normal but blood results that came back abnormal?

I'm a little nervous and impatient about this, if that isn't obvious.

The blood work came back in about a week, and then I had to go back a month later for another set of blood work, which was just part of the regular testing. A doctor looked at the scan and told us that everything looked normal, so we left with a little reassurance. When the blood work came back, I felt much better.

Mine took about 3 days, I think.

Blood work results came in the mail a week later (totally normal). The u/s tech told us during the scan that everything looks great, which was reassuring.

I still haven't gotten my blood work back because my NT scan came with the integrated blood work where they compare at 12 weeks and 16 weeks so I'm going in for the second part on Friday. Trying not to worry about it though.

mine took a week but they didn't tell me anything because they waited on the second part, which was at 16 weeks.

Do most people get a 12 and 16 week test? I thought it was just the one?

I have no results from the 12 week because I have to also do a 16 week test.

I did the bloodwork about a week before the NT scan so I'd have all the results at once. The dr. said the b/w took about 5 days to get back from the lab. I'll have quad screen tests in a few weeks (although I might skip it since we already did the maternity21 test.)

I did the NT scan and first set of bloodwork at 12 weeks. There was a second set of bloodwork at 16 weeks.

I don't know when my results came in 've my OB's policy is to contact us only if there were to be a concern.

3-5 days for 12 week bloodwork (actually took 3)
3-5 days for 16 week bloodwork (actually took 5 but including new years holiday days)

Also - got mine by phone both times, but my office calls you even if everything is fine. Some don't so you may want to check. I got separate calls for 12 week and for 16 week, even though I think the 16 week results were blended with the 12 week ones.

The tech and dr told us that day at the scan all the measurements looked good, but the bloodwork took a few days to a week. I left the scan feeling very comfortable based on everything they toldnus

The doctor gave immediate scan results then the genetic counselor called with bloodwork results ~1 wk later.

No experience with this yet, but mine is in 2 weeks and I'm nervous too. Good luck!

Thanks everyone. My doc never mentioned anything about a 16 week screen. I will ask about it on Monday when I have a follow up. Good to know a lot of you felt comfortable after just hearing the results of the scan itself. Can't wait to see this little baby again! Last I saw was 7 weeks.
