I posted on MM Moms about CDers, and was told you may be able to offer some insight into cloth diapering twins
I am looking into switching from Pampers to CD for my boys. Can you share what brand you use, what you like and dislike about them, how much time it takes up weekly (or daily) to wash and prep them, and if you have any advice for CD twins. Thanks!
Additional info: my boys are 8.5 months old, Henry is about 15 pounds and Jack is about 16.
I use pockets, for the most part, as I decided early on that I wanted something as "easy" as disposables. My faves are Bum Genius 4.0 and Alva. I haaaaate Fuzzibunz. I also have some Flips I got on sale and I like them, too. I have about 50 changes, and though I run a load of wash daily bc the wetbag fills up and honestly one day's worth of double diapers is a full load, I stuff every other day or so, so usually a good chunk of the diapers are sitting clean in a basket waiting to be stuffed. I could get by with 30 diapers, I am sure, probably 24 now that I change them less often.
The wash works like this for my HE front loader: shake wetbag into wash, run "quick wash" on cold, sometimes with a little white vinegar. Then add recommended amount of Tide and run a normal wash, hot, with extra rinse. This is about 2 hours in the washer. I dry inserts and fitteds (which I use overnight, more in a minute) in the machine and line dry pocket shells and covers either inside on a line in my laundry room or on a line in the back yard. So far my actual involvement is just a few minutes of fussing with the machines, hanging stuff up, switching things over. I stuff while watching TV after bedtime, and it usually takes 30 minutes, maybe longer if I'm drinking wine and whatnot.
For overnight, I can get 12 hours or more with a fitted (Thirsties Fab Fitted or Green Mountain workhorse) plus a hemp insert (Thirsties) inside a Flip cover.
So far I do not have a sprayer, but will be getting one soon. Have been using flushable liners.
I use coconut oil as a preventative to stave off rashes, like California Baby cream, and use cloth wipes (baby washcloths) with the CaliforniaBaby spray.
My girls wear disposables at daycare and like right now, we are on an extended out of state visit. I frequently have blowouts and leaks in disposables, no matter the brand, but have had only 2 blowouts and a few "waited too long to change" leaks in cloth. My rashy girl is rashy in everything, but I think it is because she has bladder and bowel issues related to spina bifida.
Overall, I love cloth, feel it saves me money, and do not find it to be a very big hassle. You can buy used and save even more.
Thank you! I'll have to look into Alva, I have never heard of that brand.
I remember you now from the Bump multiples board- only because I remember thinking you had picked such cute names for your girls I didnt post that often, but lurked at night after work. Kind of like I do here. I'm sure I'll have more questions, so I appreciate your offer to help!

I think the site is alvababy.com It looks sketch, and I worried $5 diapers were too good to be true, but they take PayPal and offer free shipping, though it takes like a month or more to get here from China.
Good to see you here! I am still sometimes on Multiples, but not much as it seems most posts are the same old things from preggos over and over.
