How does the grout color change when sealed? Does it look the same as wet unsealed grout?
I was at the tile shop yesterday (got awesome deal! 47% total savings). I chose a light grayish grout. When wet, it looks darker gray. I was told the sealed tiles will look like wet unsealed tiles. I forgot to ask about the grout. Is this true for the grout too?
Our Misty Gray gout is sealed and definitely gets darker when wet, so there is a difference between sealed grout and wet grout in ours. I don't remember the sealer darkening up the grout any once it was dry, but I could be just forgetting.
Thank you all for sharing your experience. I will ask the tile place when I pick up the stuff and see if there's any way they can show me how a sealed grout would look like. All the stuff they have in their showroom are not sealed.
I really don't want the grout to get too dark. I don't want a noticeable contrast between the tile and the grout. If there is a contrast, it would be the grout being lighter and not darker.
