So E is doing three increasingly long days at day care this week to transition to a full start next Monday. Today was the first day, and he was only there 9-11 this morning. He took the 3.5 oz. bottle I sent with him and finished it without issue. His primary caretaker there said he was great; smiley and just a tiny bit fussy once, at which point she changed him and put him down for a nap (par for the course with him lately, it only lasted twenty minutes). Anyway, he was in a good mood when I picked him up. We came right home and he immediately started pecking to nurse when I held him. It had only been ~an hour since he had taken the bottle, but I went ahead and nursed him since I hadn't pumped anyway. Then he went down for another nap at noon, and got up at 12:45. Super fussy in the hour since. Finally after 25 minutes of fussiness (and him pecking at me again), I gave in and nursed him. He freaked out when I finally took him off (he unlatched), even though he's been going for far longer than a usual nursing session.
So: does this sound like reverse cycling, even though he did take the bottle at day care? If so, I'm terrified of what tomorrow will be like (8:30-2), Friday (8-4), and holy shit, Monday (7:30ish-4:30ish). :-(
I would say he just missed Mommy and nursing is a surefire way for some snuggling. It is great that he takes a bottle so easily! Most nursing 3 months olds I have always have issues the first week or so. good for him (and you!).

I would expect cluster feeds when you get home, no matter what time they last gave him a bottle. Very normal for the baby to want to nurse & reconnect with mom.
I spent many evenings snuggled on the couch with M for marathon nursing sessions. Even now he wants to nurse when we get home, then he wants to play with daddy.
