I ordered three (inexpensive but well-rated) tablets off Amazon for the grands. To get them here by (or around) Christmas I paid for expedited shipping. Overnight was something like $40 per item so I did two-day at $20 per item for a fee of $60 to get these things to me by Christmas Eve but hey, no later than December 28. Grandson is visiting his dad so we were holding off until Saturday. Tracking says it's "shipped from the facility" via USPS but going to the USPS website the most updated is "were electronically notified on Dec23 but that doesn't guarantee it's been picked up" bs. So it's now 2013 and I still don't have the tablets, any more recent info on the tablets or anything. And I've e-mailed the vendor twice so far with no response (the first being the morning after I placed the order to see if we could do overnight or expedited-expedited rather than merely expedited and if I could arrange that for less than $120 since it was three objects he could put in one box) and the second being on December 29th. (Well, the third being this morning with a "where the eff are my tablets.") Reviews on Amazon were fine for the most part but there have been a lot of recent "where are they and why haven't they been shipped" posts over the past week or two. :\
I just want my tablets in my mailbox. Yesterday. Or actually five days ago at the latest since that's what I paid for.
Damn, I just checked e-mail and saw a notice that my order has shipped and will be here Friday. It's the stupid camera case I ordered a couple hours ago. Why can't my tablets be as prompt?

Because you ordered your camera case through amazon directly and not a third party seller?
Right now I am pissed at amazon, though, I ordered some dog treats on Saturday (early morning) and they still aren't here. I have prime, people! I should have had those suckers by Monday or really even today. But Thursday? That is not two day shipping by any stretch of the imagination.
I don't understand why amazon decided to start allowing any random person to sell on their site. Grr. They're giving themselves a bad name, since a lot of people don't understand the 3rd party vendor thing.
I know it was a third-party vendor but they had good reviews. Until today. There are about 30 people posting 1/5 with "didn't receive item" comments. I contacted Amazon directly and was told "well, it's a third party vendor so you have to deal with them directly." Told them "I've tried to contact. No response." So I got a $5 credit. lol. At least this is the first problem I've ever had with them so it's not like I'm going to desert them any time soon. And better yet, I got my money back. Yeah, it was cancelled on December 30 according to my Amazon e-mail, which I never received in my Yahoo e-mail. They cancelled but never responded to any of my correspondence. But the reimbursement is better than some people got (so far) according to the reviews. :\
I also sent a "last chance" email with a notation of "this is how it SHOULD have been fixed so this wouldn't have happened" and "you've got one chance to remedy the situation. Send me all three overnight so I get them tomorrow and I won't post the 1/5 that you have earned with this klusterfuck" (well, okay so that last one isn't a direct quote but it should have been. I was a bit more polite and professional about it.)
According to the reviews I've seen pop up today, this particular third-party vendor is using several different names, or appears to be at a quick glance. What a great way to keep the positive ratings up. Just switch your name when the ratings get low.
