I saw a blog on the local newspaper website where a woman was taking care of a friends cat, but needs to find another home for her.
I emailed the lady, but she said I was the first one to respond since the blog was posted (on Wednesday) and she had to surrender it to a kill shelter since the no kill shelter had a waiting list.
I called the shelter and girl had no idea what I was talking about, but she seemed new. I have an email into the shelter to see if she's still available. I'm determined to save this cat! I really hope she's either been adopted or just not processed yet.
Coming from a rescuer that works with the city shelter... gather all the info you have (cat's name, when surrendered, name of person who surrendered, what cat looked like) and physically go down and stand there while they work on it.
Shelter's are hella busy and understaffed. Standing right there makes sure your problem is dealt with.
