How do you discourage dropping food from the high chair? Ideally I would stop giving her food as soon as she drops anything but shes doing it early on in dinner and I always wind up giving her food to keep her quite until I finish eating which isn't accomplishing anything.

I don't think she's doing it on purpose, so I'd keep giving her food. She'll eventually get the hang if it, and stop doing it. However, my 2.5 year old still drops food occasionally.

I think V and my dog are in cahoots. She waits for Daisy to come by and then she leans over and drops her some treats. Unfortunately, my dog won't eat bananas, so I wind up scraping banana glue off of the floor. I just try to distract her when she starts to toss.

Haha Macy does this too, she leans over the chair, drops her snacks, and watches the dog eat it. Our dogs know now when she's eating they'll get treats so they hang out under the high chair.

I read that it helps develop their sense of cause and effect. Aka when they let go of something it's going to drop. Also the different sounds somethings make when they fall encourages them to do it again, for the learning aspect of it.
So I just tried to ignore it. Now that she purposefully throws toys on the floor at the restaurants I just give it back three times and then put it away vs give it back to her.
The only thing she throws in the high chair is her sippy cup. I just pick it up and do t give it back right away. Usually she doesn't want it when she throws it. One has already cracked so I try to only give her the cup when I think she wants it.
As far as food goes she takes her hand and wipes through it really fast and it goes off the high chair but it isn't throwing really? I don't know I guess it's another form of throwing haha... either way it goes to the floor.

Same thing here.
Sent from the future.
Yup. Here too. And yesterday I caught the dog eating puffs off his pants that I had missed I thought she was being all cute and cuddling with him. Nope. She was snacking on pant puffs.
