Hi, ladies. I post on the main board sometimes, but not often. I've just started lurking in here and figured I might as well out myself. DH has been saying for months that he's ready to TTC, and I'm getting there. (I am the planning type, and if one more person tells me, "You'll never be ready. Just go for it," I might scream.) Mind if I bug you all with some questions?
We are just starting TTC as well. The "It will just work out" people drove me NUTS. But I am now telling myself that all the time to make me less nervous.
Thanks, Mrs. Darcy! I feel like I post a lot for a lurker, but nobody ever remembers me.
Everett is the name of a dear family member of mine!
I'm trying to post more too! I'm glad the name has a good connotation! Thankfully, we've never heard, "Ugh! That's the name of my murderous uncle" or something.

Good luck, too, with your TTC! It's definitely a BIG step, and we're facing down TTC #2 this summer, and I'm excited, but already taking deep breaths!
I was going to ask but didn't want to be nosey. That's great! But I can totally understand the deep breaths…
I keep giving my DH all these reasons why we shouldn't be in a hurry, and then I feel the urge to get things going and have to shoot holes through my own excuses. It's tiring.

Ha, ask anything you want! Yeah, I think the excitement of it all is what's driving me to look past the deep breaths! We got through newbornhood with #1, we will with #2 as well (though of course, Mama will have a LOT less sleep this time around!).

Hi, I've been lurking here as well. I'm in your DH's shoes, with my husband slowly getting there. He's also a planning type, and he wants everything lined up just in case.
Hi, and welcome! I'm definitely on the over-planning side when it comes to TTC. I was emotionally ready a few years ago, but my H was not there yet - so I made a list of pre-TTC things we wanted to do (fun things like vacations and boring things like arranging life insurance) and we checked off everything before we started! People make fun of me IRL but I feel like we made a good decision to wait until we were financially ready.
Vicmo! I think of you so fondly, because my H loves the homemade protein bars you recommended! ;D
At the risk of exposing my loose screw… I really didn't think my H would ever reach the point of being ready enough to prod me. I had it in my head that I would never ask him, because I so badly wanted him to get there on his own; and then I went so far as to imagine we'd probably never have kids, all because I'm too stubborn to give in and ask if he's ready, and of course he'll never be ready without my bugging him or reminding him. And then he said, "Hey, I'm ready. Let's do this." And I'm the one who's not quite ready! :-|
What advice do you have regarding health and whatnot? I have been taking vitamins (regular, not prenatal…but they have plenty of folic acid) regularly for a while now and think I will go off the pill soon. Is there any real reason to go see a doc or should I just let nature take its course? For what it's worth, I only have a PCP (who also does my gyn exams), so if I need to see an OB, I also need to find one...

Hi! All four of us will be there shortly, no doubt. Glad your'e here!
And hello to Applesauce! (You have a beautiful little one.) I'm excited to be over here, "meeting" new people. I so wish I could GBCN at work.
I am going to miss my sleep so much. I will mourn with you.
I'm in NC. Yes, well, with #1 you can take naps freely with the baby naps (at least during maternity leave), but with #2, not as easily. Though, I sure am hoping!

Oh, I hope it's warmer there than here!
Here's to Everett developing a sincere love for long, frequent naps that overlap with Baby #2's.

Yes, probably a bit warmer!! Oh, you're my new best friend with that second sentiment! I'll wish you a baby that sleeps through the night from an early age!
I think I might need extra folic acid; my multi only has 400 mcg! I will make a point of stopping for that and rolled outs for the bars. (I need to make some, too. I've been bad about grocery shopping since I started my new job and have a bad commute.) Gotta get that book, too. Considered it once, a long time ago, but decided it might scare my H. No chance of that now!
ETA: I messed up the quote function. GAH!
Grover, if you're still here, where do you live?? I understand if you don't want to say. Maybe just a region?

I called my OB (yes, I would advise you go ahead and at least choose one. Decide which hospital you want to deliver at, then work backwards as to which OBs deliver there), and got a prescription for a pre-natal vitamin. It's free with my insurance, which is a definite perk! Though, of course, you can pick them up OTC.
