When Pey falls asleep at the boob or in my arms but cries when I lay her down I have to let her CIO. It never lasts more than 5-10mins but I hate it and have to do something whilst she cries. Like I tell myself okay if she's still crying after I unload the dishwasher I'll go back in there. Otherwise the minutes creep by and it's torture.
Hope she goes back to going down easy for you soon!!
L did the same thing last night. For two ours I was trying to get him to bed. Finally, at 9, I just brought him downstairs to play. He jumped in the Jumperoo like a mad man and played with us until 11. He went down after that, but woke up pretty much every hour during the night screaming crying. It was horrible and I felt helpless.
Last night it took over an hour to get Lillian to sleep. I rocked her to sleep and she woke up on the walk to her room. Both DH and I tried rocking her in our arms in her room and she just tried to escape. I tried everything else too. She was tired, her eyes would close then she would pop her eyes open and start over. We had to let her CIO (with check ins) but it sucked and it was the first time. She STTN last night.
Hang in there I know there have been posts about the 9 month wakeful, lots of developmental this going on plus teething. When it doubt do like you did and eat a cookie
L went to sleep right before 7. He had one nap from 11-1:20. ( I woke him up) and then unoccupied him for the rest of the day hoping we wouldn't have a repeat.
Holy crap, shortly after I replied she was up and I just now got her back to sleep. I also let her play and did the same thing when she yawned, tried to get her to sleep. I had to rock and shush really loud like when she was NB.
We don't have any cookies and I ate the last brownie this morning We have ice-cream but not what I want. She woke up again but fell back asleep after rolling around for a few minutes. I hope she STTN again but I highly doubt it, it's a rare thing around here. ok off to bed for me!
Sam had rough nights on Sunday and Tuesday. Sunday she went down at her normal time, 7ish and was up wide awake two hours later. We were up until 12:30 am. Last night she didn't go down until 11pm. She learned to sit up over the weekend so I think she just wanted to be up and play!
She seems to be gradually pushing her bedtime back, from 7ish to 8ish....or maybe all this time off from work I've had lately for the holiday's have been screwing with her bedtimes.
Jamie also had a rough couple of nights. Last night he went down fine but kept waking up on and off for about an hour. The night before - whoa. He cried on and off for an hour while DH kept going in to rock him (which we haven't done since he was 4 months old). Eventually he brought him into our room to watch tv with us and he was just bouncing around. We finally gave him another bottle and he went to bed at 9:15. His normal bedtime is 7/7:30
Matilda has been sleeping poorly for a while now, travel probably had a lot to do with it however she weirdly seems to want much less sleep all of a sudden! she doesn't nap more during the day, but wakes often in the night and seems wide awake and ready to play. Or else she's screaming a lot. It's all very weird and annoying.
Last night was a good night she only woke at 1am, 4am, 5am, and then 6am for the day (she usually sleeps til 730/8) and compared to the previous night I feel very rested!
Also I do let her CIO but it depends on the situation and if shes crying/moaning a bit I'll leave her but when it increases to a very bad level of screaming and/or she's coughing too, I can't do it.
9 month wakeful eh? that would make sense, although mine is only 8 months and 1 week...
So there is a 9 month wakeful!!?? Sounds like our LO's are in it early.
Sam is doing this thing now where she wakes about an hour after putting her down for the night. Wide awake. We have to play for another hour and then she is out for the count, thank goodness.
