Right now just my local Nest spin off. In the past I've been a member of lots & lots, mostly private boards that were spin offs or spin offs of spin offs of the Nest parenting boards. Private boards usually get boring /or too cliquish after a year or 2. I've lurked mostly on mothering.com ( mostly the Montessori board), child modeling board (since my kids were doing that for years) k some specialty kids clothing boards too. Oh & home & decor ivillage boards.
I used to browse purse forum. There are several subtopics, not just bags.
Same here. But whenever I get into regularly browsing there, I start obsessing over $$$ things to buy. Not MM
I occasionally visit a work-from-home forum related to the google rater thing I do p/t.
Some of my favorite time-wasting sites are:
www.digg.com - random interesting articles that are trending on the internet www.gawker.com - similar concept; somewhat more political www.dlisted.com - celeb gossip with raunchy/fun commentary www.buzzfeed.com - fun things to read
I like MetaFilter, which is a group blog that always has something interesting to read, and its spinoff site Ask Metafilter, where people pose questions to the site's members about anything and everything. Both sites are a bit more...intellectually developed, shall we say...than the average community site.
Sometimes I lurk on Urbanbaby when I have time to kill. It's kind of hilarious. They have insanely ferocious SAHM/WOHM arguments. The income posts relating to NYC are also interesting to me because it's so outrageously expensive to live there with kids.
