I bought mushrooms a few days ago and didn't get to them right away, well this morning I was putting together a shepherd's pie and wanted to saute some mushrooms.
I dumped the package out into a colander, picked out two mushrooms that had mold on them and checked all the rest. They were still firm, not mushy or wet. So I rinsed them in cold water and patted them dry, still looking for any gross ones. Didn't see any.
So I sauteed them up and threw them in my shepherd's pie. This is okay right? I know they say if all the mushrooms are mushy or wet, but they were bone dry and firm and I threw the moldy ones out.
