I'm looking for suggestions. Ideally I'd like to do 5 days. I have a buttload of Marriott points. Any suggestions? I keep looking at Costa Rica but not completely sold. Needs to be kid friendly adventures.
Wouldn't help with the points, but have you considered a cruise? H and I love them for our shorter vacations. Most ships have a 'kids club' with activities they can do onboard.

We usually do the QM2 transatlantic crossing every year so I'm not sure I could handle a carnival type cruise.
CuraƧao was definitely my favorite tropical spot. I know there is a large Marriott resort there. There are plenty of family friendly activities there: Hiking in the national park, beaches, the aquarium, tours, etc. We found it to be less commercialized and overall less expensive for the Carribbean.
What coast are you on? We do Hawaii as a half week trip often, but we live in Seattle. We actually just got back from 5 days on the Big Island, but I think any of the other major islands would probably work better for a shorter trip.
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime. Mark Twain

Another vote for Puerto Rico. So easy to get to, great weather almost always and a nice mix of other activities if you get sick of the beach, such as the rain forest, a drive around the island or through the Carretera Central to look at mountains and eat great food at roadside pig-roasting shacks, the colonial town of Ponce, the historic center of Old San Juan, fresh seafood in Mayaguez, a quick jump to Vieques to see the bioluminescent bay, etc.
