Just wondering if there are others facing time-consuming projects that are not exciting but necessary? For me, I need to scrape, prime and paint the spines between our exterior windows, as well as the aluminum casing around the windows. As I type this project description, I'm groaning and sighing.
Where are my ladies stripping & painting trim? Words of advice? Maybe do one window at a time?
Interestingly, I have a bunch of cleaning and organizing to do that I've been putting off for months and I'm trying to kick my butt into gear and get it done this month for the challenge. We only use two of our four bedrooms, so the two unused rooms have turned into dumping grounds for crap that has no other home. I could not be dragging my feet more on cleaning them out. It's not that it'll be hard, it's just so boring!
We also need to scrap and re-drylock the two unfinished rooms of our basement. That's something I could avoid for awhile, too.
I have two of those: Cleaning out and organizing the garage and painting the risers on our stairs. both will take a full day of work and can't really be broken down into smaller tasks. Because I rarely have a full day free, they keep getting put off.

Painting the ceilings in my hallway and family room. I need to do it soon, too, because we're getting new flooring and I want it to be done before then. I really hate painting ceilings.
scraping old caulk off our windows before the new trim goes in.
HATE. So far we've done 9 out of 16. We alternate who gets stuck with that job, and even roped my mom into working on it for a little bit. One window left on the main floor that has to get done this weekend so we can finish the trim in there, and then the entire lower level still needs to be done.
it SUCKS. I always end up slipping and bashing my knuckles on the framing. By the time I finished the window in the nursery I looked like I'd been bare knuckle boxing or something.
Our interior trim is an ongoing project. Plus, I have a bookcase that I NEED TO FREAKING PAINT. Its twin is done. We just brought a new puppy home yesterday though so it could be a while.
painting all of the doors in our house. none of them have been painted and they look gross. also the stair risers. i know it's not the biggest job, i just can't pull the trigger on it.
Our basement needs cupboards and shelving for the built ins. We finally have the funds to do it and now H and I are both dragging our feet. So much work. So much measuring. So much MESS. I got tired of projects for awhile so we took a break..we need to get back to it stat!
Painting the massive hallway upstairs (with lots of trim) and redoing the trim around all the doors in the house to match the trim I want to put on my windows (if i ever get to trimming out my windows)
Good luck all. Maybe we should have some kind of pressureor project check in for getting these things done. I too have more unpacking, organizing, and garage clean up to do. Boo!

Stripping the painted trim. It's messy and time consuming. And esp not rewarding of we decide to repaint (still want to strip the previous 20 layers regardless).

I realized 2 nights ago that we have 2 months until we list our house. We have a bunch of annoying things to get done. Worst? Fix the portion of our front retaining wall and stair stair that is falling down. Ugh. It's going to be a PITA.
Painting my closets. They are the only areas left in my house that is the god awful blood red that the previous owner had most of the house painted in. To pain the closets, it will require me to remove five closet organizers. This is not a task I am looking forward to, but after living in the house for nearly three years and having all of the other painting done, it's time.
I'm not looking forward to painting our exterior come spring. I was hoping to save up enough to hire out, but now that we have a dog who has some issues that we need to hire a trainer for, I don't know that we'll be able to hire out since it's close to 5 grand Definitely dreading doing it ourselves.
I'm looking forward to having a new kitchen, but the renovation process scares the crap out of me. We have a lot of work to do before we even get to the point of installing cabinets and flooring so I'm just not sure how we're going to manage feeding ourselves for however long it's going to take. Planning to begin this in March-ish.
