I am battling a cold (day two) and I need it to just go away, I cannot take it anymore. I am bad at being sick and it rarely happens, and I'm just a big baby and all alone and it sucks. So far I am: -ingesting insane amounts of liquid echinacea, liquid vit d, and vit c pills -drinking green tea -no dairy, no sugar -eating soup and oranges/grapefruit -hot, steamy showers
What else can I do to make it stooooppppp? I really try to avoid western medicine/chemicals (I'm super sensitive to them and every single bad side effect tends to happen to me). I took one damn ibuprofen last night and puked...ugh.
Zinc, mega doses of vitamin C. I also have a little remedy that sounds gross but isn't bad-you boil water, crush a few cloves of garlic and some fresh ginger root, pour the boiling water over that and add honey. The garlic is anti-bacterial/anti-viral, ginger helps raise your temperature to fight the infection and honey helps with the taste.

Mmm, that doesn't sound gross, it sounds delicious.

Seriously, go get the Neti pot and the Pre mixed salt. This always does wonders for me and cuts down on congestion and sinus pressure so I'm not living on DayQuil. Just make sure you mix it with distilled water.

For some reason Ramen always makes me feel better even though it is so bad for you. I think it's the combination of the heat, easy to digest noodles, and the salt. It makes me feel better than anything else when I have a cold though.
