Hello Has anyone dealt with an off center chandelier? If so, how did you remedy it?
I have plans to "swag" it, but I'm scared of how it will look because the chain is dark brown so it seems like it could stick out like a sore thumb. And I know that the other options are lots of work and might not even be feasible. (Moving the whole electrical box over, etc)
So I guess I'm especially looking for any "swag success stories"? Thanks!
How far off are we talking? My Mom's in the DR isn't quite right. She just slid the whole table so it's centered with the chandelier and not the room. Helped a ton. It's obvious if it's not right with the light but not as off in an entire room..especially with other furniture, curtains etc.
It's really far off. Ever since we've lived in the house, we've always centered our DR table around it. However, we finally got a new DR set and we're re-doing the room in general. (It's a combination dining/living room) So with the way our new furniture is, the table needs to be in a certain place, which means we need to re-center the chandelier.
I'm gonna investigate a chain cover or a different chain to see what I can find...
By the way, if anyone has a swagged chandelier and you can share a picture of it, that would be awesome. It's crazy how I'm finding barely any pictures online. I'm looking through google images, bing images, etc. I keep seeing the same 2 or 3 pictures over and over and they don't make me feel confident about swagging
When we moved into our house, our light was already like this, but even shorter of a swag, 6 inches maybe? Apparently the previous owners realized it was off too. It is a high vaulted celing so I don't really notice, except it does drive me crazy that they used a dark colored hook, with a nickel fixture.
