Last year I was able to earn a ton of free gift cards, mostly Amazon gift cards, by using swagbucks and mobile apps like checkpoints and viggle. I currently use Swagbucks, Checkpoints, Shopkick and Viggle. What other apps do you use to earn gift cards?

No advice here but I am interested in the answers.
I have a friend that uses "SaveUp" and it gives you points for saving $$ and you can trade in the points. Not entirely sure how the whole things works, but I know he somehow one $1000 in a sweepstakes.
I do Swagbucks and love all my ACGs!
Question for you - this post just made me download Checkpoints. Is there a intro site for dummies for how it works? How does it know if I am actually in the store? For instance, it recognizes that there is a CVS near me, but I am not actually there, can I still get the points?
Thanks. I just downloaded Checkpoints and Shopkick. I love Swagbucks. I use SaveUp, but have never won anything. I keep trying though. I use Toluna for surveys.
Ruralrabbit - Just so you know with both Checkpoints and Shopkick, you can "check in" to stores without actually going to the store. With shopkick you can usually get between 50 and 200 walk in points depending on the store. Target, Old Navy, and Best Buy are the one I usually get walk in points at. But I know you can at Macy's and some other stores too. They also have coupons and discounts built into the app too.
You can also collect more points by scanning products in the store. I use to do this and get a ton of points. But now with my 6 month old dd, I just try to get in and out of stores and don't scan items much.
Leancuisine - with checkpoints, you can usually just check in without going to store. And check out the tab Nearby Points. Anything with a yellow star is worth 10 points, and grey star is worth 2. There is a limit of how many stores you can check into each day. From my time using the app it is something like 15 or 20 stores.
Let me know if you have more questions. I will try to answer with what I have learned.
sell me on swagbucks .... I only have heard of that through emilyunder1000, and so naturally I thought it was a load of nonsense.
And if you have a referral link (if it works that way) feel free to post it or PM me and I'll sign up under you.
I'll PM you mind. I log in daily and do the daily poll, the NOSO and a search. I might do a search in the evening if I think of it. I get a $5 Amazon card about once a month. If I try harder I get one every 2-3 weeks. I used them a lot for Christmas gifts this year.

There is also an app on both andriod and ios (Iphones) that allows you to run videos. For every 5 videos you get 2 points. And you can get up to 50 points a day. I just let it run in the background and don't have to do anything. Make sure you use a wifi connection otherwise you could max out on your data if you do it everyday.
I also do the videos on the website. 3 swagbucks for every 10 videos. I just click on a video when I walk by the computer, or if I am watching TV at night I will click on the videos. I also do surveys from time to time.
I was able to get hundreds of dollars of free amazon gift cards last year using swagbucks. The amount of swagbucks you earn comes down to how much work you want to put to getting them.

With Shopkick do you just have to make sure/turn the app on. I was in Target yesterday, and I completely forgot about it, and of course didn't get the kicks.

That is my biggest challenge too. And then I get mad at myself when I forget.

Do I have to do anything other than check in? Will it show me ads or videos or other annoying things? I don't want to be bothered with much, but I can handle a check-in. Just trying to gauge whether it'd be worth it for someone like me. If it's ebates like, I'm in. If it's more intrusive, I'll skip it.
You can just check in. If you want to do more you can scan certain items as well. I usually just check in to stores when I get to work in the morning. It is easy for me and takes not work.

What is the app? I have really showed down on my swag bucks this year, last year I was doing well, bought several gifts. I ahve unlimited data, so no issues.
FieldAgent you do jobs for money, you can have it deposited in your Paypal. It's just usually going to a store, taking a couple pics and answering questions. The they approve it and give you the money. There aren't a lot of jobs where I am, but I've probably made $32 so far.

If anyone else would like to sign up for swagbucks I have a referral link as well.
I've found you can earn points decently well. You'll get points for watching videos, doing quizzes and signing up for random things. I use an alternate e-mail address so my main one doesn't get spammed. I'll often have it going in the background when I'm surfing GBCN.
