I might be worried about the choking hazard for the 9 month old. The idea of a kid swallowing magnets terrifies me. I haven't seen them in person -- how big are they?

the magnets are really small but the actual pieces are large and it is virtually impossible to get the magnets out. I drove over one and while it cracked the piece was still in its shape and usable.

The magnets are embedded in the plastic - and the smallest magnatile is still too big for a baby to fit in their mouth.
I think they would be a good gift. IME, it is virtually impossible to break them to get the magnets out, and the pieces themselves are too big to be a choking hazard.

This is great to hear, thanks. I've been holding off on getting them for DD because I was worried about #2 swallowing them!
