For the last month or so nursing has been a struggle. I know some of it is distraction, but even in the MOTN he only nurses maybe 5 mins. The last 2 weekends I've worked he has only taken 4 oz vs the 8 he normally does and my pump output has reflected that - getting 5-6 oz vs the 10-11 I was. We're only doing 2 meals a day, sometimes a light snack, so I hate to cut any solids but I'm stressing about him barely seeming to get any milk. Though I guess even if he only was getting 2-3 oz a session that's 12-18 oz and I think that's okay at this age?
I need BFing group to not be right in the middle of nap time so I can go talk to an LC.
Is he teething? Sick? Luke dropped his consumption down but he was teething and sick. Then I had to worry about dehydration. I think he's eating/drinking more now that he's feeling better
Audrey has been like this for weeks now. 5 minutes is a good feed! I have to struggle sometimes to get her to nurse for 2.5 min before bed. She just wants to sit up and grab her feet and try to lunge off my lap and smile and play with my necklace. It's sooo frustrating and freaking me out a bit. I'm so hoping it's a phase and it will end soon.
I wished I pumped sometimes so I knew how much (or how little) he was getting. Did you have a period like this with your DD that you can remember? I know around this time DS1 seemed to go off his milk feeds. He was really getting into food and only had MAYBE 3 BF feeds a day at 8 months. But I couldn't force him, and he got back into it after a month or so.
I know, it's stressful. Hopefully it's just a phase and it will pass.

At this age DD had just started going every 3 hours vs every 2 and was still nursing a good 20 mins at a time lol. The girl was a boob a holic. My husband thought maybe he was getting teeth, but it has been a month it has been like this and there are no other signs of teething - he eats any kind of solid food we give him and sleep patterns haven't changed. I wanted to start 3 meals, but I guess I'll hold off for now.
I made a post kinda like this the other day but didn't get a response last I checked. I saw another one kinda like it but people mentioned teething being the issues but ss is still all gums so I doubt that is the issue. He has just been wanting to eat solids and won't nurse much at all.
Laney has always only nursed for about 5 minutes so I think you're okay there. I'm having similar issues and she's really hating the bottle. She only drinks 1-3oz while I'm at work :/ she seems to be gaining weight okay and she nurses okay MOTN (short but doesn't fight it and still wakes every 2-3 hours) so I guess I don't have any advice. Haha sorry but you're not alone!
Mine does not seem to be finishing her bottles at daycare. I send 3 bottles of 4oz and she rarely drinks them all. Maybe all of one, 3oz or sometimes less from the other 2! She loves food though. Last night she had some carrots, bit of shredded beef from our dinner. Then she ate 4oz yogurt, and 4oz of purees. (avocado and squash). She wanted more even!
When it comes to boobs themselves though she still likes them a lot. I think she might be a comfort nurser.

Yeah, that's part of the problem. Yesterday for brunch he had an entire pear, a whole egg, about on oz of cheddar, and a full sized pancake. Dinner was probably 1/4 cup of spaghetti, 1/4 cup of eggplant, maybe 1/4 cup of shredded pork, and almost 1/2 cup of green beans. Kid packs it away, but he screams bloody murder if we try to take him out and he's not done. He kept crying after nap yesterday and wouldn't nurse, wouldn't take a bottle so I gave up and just gave him a couple crackers to get him to dinner (which he wolfed down).
And we didn't make group today thanks to nap so I guess we're just going to roll with it.
