So, Edie refused water. I guess not "refused", but just didn't drink it. I started giving her a cup of water at 6m. I bought ALL THE CUPS THAT EXIST and she still wouldn't drink it. I even tried putting it in a bottle to see if that'd get her used to it. She just turned her head (we all know that motion).
At 18m when she was still only drinking WCM (despite having constant access to water cups), I put some pomegranite juice in her cup and she sucked it back. Then she started drinking 5+ cups A DAY of pom/water.
At 9+m, Adeline is heading down the same path.
I feel like I did EVERYTHING to get Edie to drink plain water. I can't think of one more thing I could've done.
Anyone have any thoughts? What would your plans be?

Could you try sweetening the water with a bit of fruit? Like squeeze some fresh fruit into the water? Both of my kids like water, so I lucked out. It's me that hates water...
I have heard that gradually diluting the juice with more and more water can work for some kids so it is eventually basically water they are getting ... but obviously have had no experience with that myself.
good luck!
No joke, we put a TEASPOON of pom juice in her water. It's like nothing. But that stuff is really strong. It's gross. I can't believe she likes it.

Wouldn't this be the same as what I'm doing with the Pom juice?

I thought you were trying to avoid giving juice. I assumed you were doing like 50/50 so I was recommending a dash to lighly alter the flavor. It doesn't sound like she'll go for that, though.

Oh, I gotcha. So maybe a squeeze of fruit that isn't as strong, you mean? She might even like a lemon.

I've seen weight loss blog suggestions to keep a pitcher of water with lemon and apple slices in it to give it a hint of flavor. Don't know if that would be strong enough, but she might go for it.
I feel like 5 teaspoons of juice a day isn't worth worrying about really. Though you could vary it by using different juices, fresh fruits. Maybe other flavorings. Like keep a jug of water with cucumbers, lemons, ginger etc. In the fridge? Then it's just like "infused" water... with no real sugar content.
I'm kind of against juice but that's because I think of it like 50/50 or even just juice which seems to be what most people do. If it was 1tsp juice to a cup of water and it made her drink water.. I think I'd not be too worried about it.
Though it does become difficult if in a restaurant or something and you just want a teaspoon of juice but you have to buy a whole juice for $2,ha.

Yep, that's what I was thinking. We go to a little brunch place sometimes and the ice water has slices of lemon and oranges in the bottom of it. It's really good but it's not overpowering.
Also Matilda seems ok with water but only from my cup (where she ends up soaked) or from a straw or spoon! Her sippy she's not into. I've never given her juice except when constipated I gave her half prune juice half water. She didn't like it, even from a regular baby bottle.
Jake is horrible at a sippy, but great from a regular glass cup as long as I am holding it. I don't have a plan yet, but I'm not too worried.
Adeline is actually seeming to be better at a regular cup that Edie even still is. In the bath, Edie will put a cup up to her mouth, but she puts her face in the middle of the cup. Adeline puts it to her mouth like a cup is supposed to be.
I wonder if I should quickly try these cups. I never tried them with Edie.

She chews in her water sippy and gets a small amount. We don't do juice for our kids. H now gets it on rate occasions. She only asks if other kids have it.
