So I told my boss earlier this week, and decided to tell co-workers today after my 12 week appointment, which went really well. Strong heartbeat and moving around like crazy!
Everyone is really excited but my boss (normally a little off) just seems stressed. There are already two of us pregnant, and two more known to be trying. We're teachers so I think she's really worried about staffing next year. I feel bad and her reaction was kinda weird (probably for this reason) but I'm trying not to let it get to me.

I told my boss/main co-worker at 13.5 weeks....they were both excited and it went a lot better than I expected. There are only 2 of us who work FT on our program and I thought me being out would be an issue but doesn't seem like it will be.
I just told my boss yesterday. She was very excited for me! But I work at a hospital, so people will just pick up some extra shifts during my leave. A lot of people are always looks for extra shifts to take, it seems, so its never a problem when someone's off for a long period of time.
Ladygrey, that's pretty much how it went for me, too.
Me: I'm pregnant. ED: Well, do you know what your plans are? Me: I'm not sure, yet. ED: If you could figure it out sooner rather than later, that would be great.
I work for a small org, and they don't deal with maternity leave a lot. Well, and, there is no paid maternity leave.
Betty, I saw your post on ML about your a-hole coworker but never got a chance to reply. Did you end up saying something to her about it?
I'm planning on telling my clinical lead and program manager after our staff meeting on 1/15 but my close CWs already know. Knowing my bosses they'll likely be excited for me but immediately start internally freaking out over planning another maternity leave (we have someone due in March and two in May before I have this kid in July) but when you work in a setting comprised primarily of women that are childbearing age that's the nature of the beast so I think they're used to it. At least only one of the maternity leaves is in my building...

My direct boss knows, I had to tell her early since I was super sick for a couple of weeks. I go back from Christmas break on Monday and will have to tell my employees since I am now showing! I hope that the rest of the higher-ups take it well since I will have my baby during our annual audit
I told my immediate supervisor and department director yesterday and they were both very happy for me. I let them know that I was still waiting to spread the word to the rest of the office and they were good with that as well.
Both encouraged me to take as much time for maternity leave as our company allows and I want, and were overall great.
I told my boss, he told a couple of my immediate supervisors... and I told maybe two other people in my office, out of probably 15. Obviously everyone has figured it out by this point, I just never really figured out how to tell people.
