I've been lurking around this board for ages; most of the time previously I would just sit in awe of you ladies and think, "Man, they are badass!" I've decided to come out of lurkdom since I seem to suddenly have tons of questions and you ladies are a plethora of info.
I was always pretty athletic growing up (played competitive women's roller hockey as a teen and early adulthood), rowed crew in college. I got married, and have three kids now (5, 3 and 10 months) and then my metabolism changed. Being a part of the gym got too expensive since it was $40 a month for me and if I take the kids, that's another $20 a time pretty much. I started doing C25K in August and finished it and realized I loved running. I'm signed up for a 10k in March and last week I signed up for a half marathon in April.
I'm trying to tone up mostly *three c-sections can wreck havoc to your midsection)- and I'm trying now to understand weight lifting a little more. Trying to figure out what I need to be able to do it at home/equipment/program, etc. Any insight would be appreciated. :-)
Thanks everyone for already answering so many of my questions!
I suck at the weight lifting portion of working out (for example, I am supposed to lift tonight...but I am going home to get in the bath instead because that sounds better), BUT!!
I wanted to say welcome and always ask your questions! I learn so much from the women on this board, it is the only board I come to now
