My nephew has a strange name, but eventually it just fits the baby.
I mean, one of our top runners for boys is pretty strange, but it is a family name, we like it, and we are prepared to deal with criticism. Plus, we're giving him a normal middle name, so he can go by that, if he chooses.
I don't mind Zuzu, personally. I have had 100's and 100's of students over the years, (like 150 this fall alone) so I see a ton of names. I've had students with way weirder names.
Case in point: this nice little boy I've taught recently is named with like, a rapper's name. I won't put the real one here because it's so distinct, but imagine naming your kid Key-Z, or Q-tip. It's on par with that. And his parents seem so nice and normal.
When I was teaching a coworker had a kindergartener named Indica. I don't know what that is besides a type of pot. And the parents appeared really conservative too
