I was told no. If it's something where it's a sudden unplanned then it's fine. I had an emergency surgery in September and had polish on. I actually asked the surgeon before I went in if it was okay.
My surgery 10 days before that they said no polish and my next one coming up they said the same thing. Such a bummer! ;-) I was just happy I had shaved my legs the day before my emergency surgery, haha.
Toes are fine. They generally monitor pulse oximetry/oxygen levels through your finger tips and polish can deter the readings. I've never needed someone's toes to be polish free.
I think I'll pass. I'd be annoyed if I paid for it and they ruined it. I talk to the doctor Monday. I guess if the toes are fine I'll just paint them myself then.

In my opinion to your bood circulation and oxygen saturation in your body is being monitor one parameter is your finger nails if these turn blue hence your oxygen saturation in your body is low most probably there is problem in your airway entry.

Check with your surgeon but I think that toes are fine. Every c/s that I go to, the mom has painted toes. I've also had a few surgeries and my toes were painted but my nails weren't.
I'd polish free. If they can't get a saturation on your finger (poor circulation or cold fingers usually cause that) they may go to your fore head or toes. I'd rather be safe than sorry (having one unpolished toe) if it were me.
