I am currently watching Attack the Block.
I'm trying to catch up on mainstream movies because I have been watching a bunch of independent films lately (one of the best perks of living here, easy access to independent films).
Here's a very old movie list I have and have not updated in forever: Easy A The Others The Business of Being Born Deep Water (2006) Big Love HBO Series Seasons 1 & 2 Thank You For Smoking Marie Antoinette The Opposite of Sex The Best Years of Our Lives
Subject: World Affairs Crude Awakening Maxed Out The Future of Food The Corporation Strange Days on Planet Earth An Inconvient Truth Sicko
Subject: Nature Microcosmos Life in the Undergrowth Bugs!: A Rainforest Adventure
Subject: My Favorites Three Days of the Condor The Umbrellas of Cherbourg Chinatown Waking the Dead Frantic Moon Outsourced The Lives of Others (2007) The Third Man Once Upon a Time in the West Donnie Darko Sense and Sensibility The Sound of Music Where the Boys Are
Subject: Horror Scariest Ever--The Descent 2nd Scariest--The Ring
Subject: Old Movies Diabolique Ninotchka The Red Shoes
Subject: Robert Altman The Player
To watch or watch again: The Haunting of Julia (1977) The Vanishing of the Bees (2009) Somewhere in Time (1980)
Les Miz. I'd never seen it or read the book and had no idea what it was about. I think Hugh Jackman is a great actor, but the songs were out of his range. I was so uncomfortable for him throughout the film. I liked Russell Crowe, and I liked Anne Hathaway a lot. I thought she did a great job. Also, Amanda Seyfried's nasally voice is annoying as fuck.
We recently watched the Dark Night Rises at home, it was pretty good. We saw This is 40 at the theater last week and were completely underwhelmed for an Apatow movie.
We watched Looper the other night. Not bad, but the young guy's face (I think he was the kid from 3rd Rock From the Sun) kinda wigged me out. Like a poor man's Keanu or something
Battle Royale -The original Japanese a Hunger Games. The Queen of Versailles- Documentary about awful, rich people doing awful things. Then they go broke. Then they have to fire most of staff. Dogs shit on the floor, lizards die and the most expensive house in the world is left unfinished.
After watching both films, I wanted to take everyone on The Queen of Versailles and stick them in Battle Royale.
I thought Queen of Versailles was a fascinating documentary, especially since their demise was actually happening during the filming.
