I've been going to CrossFit for almost 6 months and did my first competition today. It was just a fun thing with people from my gym, but I was definitely the least tenured competitor. I'm about an hour removed and starting to think it was actually fun! My legs are going to *hurt* tomorrow though.
WOD 1: 1 RM Clean & Jerk, any styles of both movements allowed, 3 attempts. WOD 2: Nancy, Fran, Annie, Karen (it was a 2 person team comp, so we split the reps, everyone did it differently); 20 minute cap. We got through Nancy, Fran, and 9 of the 40 set of sit ups on Annie.
Floater workouts: 500M row for time (both people) 1200M run for time (split between the partners, 600 each) AMRAP of air squats in 2 minutes (both people) AMRAP of burpees in 5 minutes (both people)
The floater WODs were killer because there was so much leg stuff and we didn't do the second (really long girl) WOD until after everything else had been completed.

Congrats on completing your first competition!! Sounds like it was a lot of fun! The box I go to is competing in the Capital affiliate league and they had the first week of competition yesterday at the box - it's 6 weeks of competition and they rotate which box it is at each weekend. I couldn't go yesterday to watch because I just had surgery, but I can't wait to get out there in the next few weeks to watch friends compete - it's so exciting!
I'm thinking about joining a box but it seems so intimidating.
Do it! Find the right gym and jump in. It is seriously the most fun I've ever had working out before. For the first time in my life I don't have to force myself out the door.

Congrats! My eyes just did this :-| reading all of that. I shall continue just doing my WODs and never ever ever competing in anything if that's what I'd have to do!
