DS has been since Friday. Cough, fever, puking from coughing.
Last night he had a 102.5 fever 5 hours after ibuprofen. I thought it broke overnight because he was sweating. This morning he has chills and a fever again. I don't know how high the fever is today because I dropped the thermometer behind his bed at 3am.
I usually wait 3 days to go in, but my normal crazy energetic 3.5 year old spent all day yesterday on the couch and it looks like today is going to be the same.

Have you tried the tylenol-ibuprofen combo? One of my sons has febrile seizures and does not respond to a single fever treatment. If not, you can give tylenol and ibuprofen simultaneously and then redose as recommended for each. Also, try cool washcloths behind the neck and lukewarm baths.
I would do the above, push fluids, and put a call into the ped on call.
Do you think it could be the flu? It's going around here even to some that have had a flu shot. I'd definitely rotate Tylenol and ibuprofen every 3 hour and give the pediatrician a call. They'll know what is going around in your area.
Get the thermometer out from behind the crib pronto and get that fever down if he still has one. DS spiked a fever of 102.3 day before yesterday and our pedi said to rotate ibuprofen and tylenol every 4 hours. I think BFC misstyped when she said give them both at the same time, don't do that! Give ibuprofen, then tylenol 4 hours later, then ibuprofen 4 hours later repeat repeat. I think you should definitely give your pedi a call, paging the on-call pedi if necessary. I hope your LO feels better soon!
