I never want to get rid of the tree. This year Dave stopped watering it after December. His strategy was that the dropping needles would drive me crazy and I'd take it down. Strategy fail. Tree looks just fine and is still up!
Aww, yeah I miss ours too. FI took it down last week on his day off, so I came home to it all packed up and put away, which was nice. I always feel like our living room looks so empty without the Christmas decorations up.
Hahaha, if it makes you feel any better we named ours (Nacho) and I thanked it several times for not falling over again after that first time. As in literally saying outloud "Great job staying upright today, Nacho!".
This is awesome! ;D
It took us forever to get the time to put up our (fake) tree. But once it was up, I mostly liked it! I really like the lights at night and then candles we put in the windows. We took it all down this weekend and while i was a little sad to see it go, I'm happy to have the space back. We unfortunately bought a really nice tree that is WAY too big for the space we put it in. We've only had it 2 years and sadly I really want to replace it with a smaller one. But that doesn't seem very MM and my H likes it.
We put most of our stuff away this weekend. The lights are still up outside and will be until we get a relatively warm day after the snow has melted. I'll probably turn off the timer this week though. I always wait until January 6 or later to put stuff away, so I don't think you're late!
