Hi guys. This is my first post on this board (though I was an ML regular for a long time and still pop in there occasionally). I was hoping to hear everyone's anecdotal and totally non-scientific stories about how B6 affected your cycle. Here's my deal, fwiw:
I have very consistent 28 or 29 day cycles, which I've been tracking for the last 2 years or so off BC. We've been TTC for 5 cycles, and prior to this one I've ovulated on CD18 or 19, so pretty short LP. From the beginning of this cycle up to the day I ovulated (CD17 per FF and OPK) I took 100 mg of B6. I'm now at CD30, no spotting (which typically starts a day or 2 before), no PMS, negative HPT (FRER) today, which I took because I'm a little nuts. I'm sure the B6 is pushing everything back, as it should, so I'm curious how many days off other people were after introducing B6.
Thanks for enduring the most acronyms I have ever used in one place.
I did not personally try this, but I heard it helped people add a day or two to the length of LP over the course of a few cycles. Some find this to take longer. Like 6 mos.
I'm not sure that was entirely helpful, but that's what I've heard. GL!

I had no luck with B6. But I took a B vitamin complex and got pregnant with DD the first cycle (I had 9-10 day LPs). I had 8-10 day LPs this time even with B6. Took the B vitamin complex last cycle and didn't start spotting until 12dpo. So I'm a firm believer that they can work right away.
Not to hijack - but does anyone have resources to check out on whether you need to take 50 or 100mg? I started with 50mg of B6 this last cycle and it didn't extend my cycle at all, so I am at around an 8-9 day LP. My understanding is that you can take too much, so I didn't want to move up to 100 if I didn't need to.

Thank you! And midwest, the only reason I took 100 instead of 50 is that's what I could find and I don't have a pill splitter. I have read that anywhere from 50-200mg are recommended to lengthen LP. The side effect of too much is nerve issues, from what I understand (numbness, tingling in appendages) which is not long term if you stop taking the supplement when you experience those symptoms. I didn't have any issues, but I deliberately until took it from CD1-O and then stopped so that I got a break from it.
FYI, spotting today so it looks like tomorrow will be period day, which means my LP will have gone from 9 or 10 days to 14. That's pretty encouraging for me.
