We're thinking of a set we found at Costco - very nice, solid wood crib, 4-in-1 convertible, and dresser with removable changing table rails, as well as a Greenguard certified infant/toddler mattress. Under $1000 for all three pieces, and the crib comes with all the conversion kits, so no need to buy later.
I'm hoping they'll have them in stock for a couple more months, as I'd feel ridiculous buying now.
Shit, I didn't even think about safety regulations. My BFF is giving us the nursery furniture she used with her two kids, who are 10 and 8 now. Looks like we might need to go shopping for a crib to go with that set...

I would not use a used crib that old.
Snatch up Costco crib it usually only that deal once a year from what I have read and when I looked in November they didn't have it set up like that. It gets great reviews from baby bargains
I borrowed a crib from a friend, and bought my glider and dresser from Craigslist and recovered the glider myself, and refinished the dresser myself! It all looks really good.
We will be moving the new baby into that room and moving G to another room, so we just started shopping for his bed etc. Aw.
We got a Babi Italia from BRU, and I like it. Obviously have no idea how much it'll scratch with a baby chewing on it, though. It's a convertible, which was important to me. I wouldn't use a used crib that's that old, if you don't want to splurge on a convertible a lot of people like Ikea cribs.
We got a glider from west elm, and we're getting a babyletto convertible crib. I have a pre-existing dresser from ikea that we will also be using. I don't think I'd feel safe using an 11 yr old crib since safety standards have changed since then.
This seems like the place to confess that we went back to Costco and bought that crib last night. It's very nice quality, and comes with the conversion kit! After reading online, I started to get nervous that they would sell out, and wouldn't be back for another year.
We put it in the room that will be the nursery and shut the door. I made H promise we wouldn't buy anything else for at least another month or two, I feel kind of silly for having the crib already.
We have the Ryder rocking chair and the zigzag floor poof from West Elm, they'll be moved to the livingroom when they outgrow the baby room. I really like the babyletto Hudson gray crib, so that's probably what we'll go with but we haven't purchased yet.
The diaper changing table is an old vanity table we found at Salvation Army, and repainted it teal and lime green, it looks awesome.

I feel bad b/c I didn't wait to buy it from Costco, but we have an awesome furniture store in town that I was able to get my crib and dresser/changing table at. I went with a recliner for the baby's room instead of a glider b/c what do you do with a glider once the baby is too big to be rocked? The recliner can at least go in DH's man cave when we are done with it

I like the Costco set but my store only has it in espresso and if its a girl I want to do white instead.
So I think if it is a boy we will be going with Costco and if it is a girl we will be doing Target/BRU for the crib/changing table and maybe IKEA for the dresser since I want to get a full-size dresser so that it can be used for awhile.
