I thought it was good. The ending wasn't great but I don't know how else it would have ended. I normally cannot handle really depressing books (I put down The Casual Vacancy after 100 pages or so) but Gone Girl is enough of a roller coaster ride that I think it's worth the read even though the ending is not satisfying.
I'd agree with this. It was "wake up in the middle of the night thinking about it and have to read another chapter" good.
Again, I am undecided about the ending.
I am hoping my book club will pick it up in 2013. It would be a REALLY good book to discuss in a group. It was tough when I finished it because I thought about it for days but didn't have anyone to think out loud to.
I just finished Gone Girl, and I am really dissatisfied with the ending (and no idea what i was expecting). I feel like I need to go for a run to get it out of my head.
I quit my job last week to take an opportunity that better fits me and my career goals. It all happened so quick but already I'm so much happier. This year is shaping out beautifully.
All three kiddos just went down for a nap, so I think I'm going to do the same. All the whining this morning exhausted me.
I've been loving the Kindle Daily Deals lately. I got Brideshead Revisited yesterday and The Poisonwood Bible today. Usually they offer books I've never heard of.
Weddings are going to be killer on our budget as well. I am a bridesmaid in one, so there are all the typical expenses (still totally worth it). Then two weeks later another good friend is getting married in Ireland. We're hoping to make it a vacation, but the timing is expensive.
Oh, and I totally agree about Gone Girl. I couldn't stop reading it or thinking about it, and, still, I think I didn't like it. Or maybe I just didn't like the characters (which is what the author was going for, I hope). There are some interesting insights/observations/thoughts in the book that are spot on.
Sorry, another random. I just heard from Job B. They STILL haven't made a decision. Maybe this week. I know this is their busiest time, blah, blah, but come on already. If I didn't really want this position and need it, I would say forget it.

All the weddings I know about so far are destination elopements. Small party when they get back. . Older windowed relatives on second marriages that are just jetting off to Hawaii for a combined wedding/honeymoon. The other never been married one small ceremony somewhere, nothing big.
Friends' wedding that I'm in is Feb 2014 -pintrest time for that one. It might be a destination one, they know if it is I may or may not be cleared to go depending on the location. Current front runner, my onco would clear, not sure if BMT would.
I'm net - 10 KG in the last month. Since DH keeps bringing me edible food I'm up a little from the bottom. I'm not sure where I've lost it from other than my boobs.

Dissatisfied or creeped out? I loved that book so much I'm reading her other books now. Disturbing and fucked up? Yes. Bad book? NO WAY.
I thought we were done with weddings, but DH's best man, who seemed to be headed for a life of bachelorhood, just announced his engagement. Now we have to figure out what to do with our 6 yo, 3 yo, and 6 month old so that we can make it to his destination wedding in October. I think I may need to leave the older two with my ILs and buy my mom a plane ticket to come with us and watch the baby during the wedding events. What a pain...
I started a 5k running program on Saturday. You're supposed to do it every other day. I can already tell I'm going to be too tired after work to run. How shitty is that? 2nd day doing it and I'm already slacking.

It will get "easier" as you do it. As with anything, when you first start doing it, it sucks. You'll be fine!
BIL got divorced this year after getting married in a destination wedding 3.5 years ago. Evidently he's discussing getting married to his new GF next summer and they want a destination wedding. I know it's her first wedding, but I think it's so farking rude of him to expect people to fly across the world 2x in less than 5 years to watch him get married (first wedding was in england, this next one will probably be in peru). Nevermind that with his first wedding we actually went to 2 ceremonies and receptions, so this would basically be the 3rd time we watched him get married. And not going isn't an option. Grrrr.
I didn't go to my brother's second destination wedding (Kyiv). I did go to the first (Moscow).
SIL is getting married in march for the second time. She's wearing the same dress, inviting the same 200 people, and 'hopes to break even' on the costs of the wedding. Her first wedding was in 2008. The only reason I'm excited to go is so I can walk into the reception with all of H's crazy relatives (who didn't bother to come to our wedding since it was, god forbid, not in NYC - so they've not seen me in 5 years) in a size 6 knockout dress.

I am back to work today after 2wks off, and I seriously think I need to find a new job. I also finish my 5 day cleanse today, and I can't wait to have some eggs and cheese.

What kind of cleanse are you doing? I'm doing a 3-day Blueprint Cleanse in the middle of next week. I need to get mentally prepared...
I'm annoyed and a little confused that they I already received the SS rate raise. My Pay Period was for Dec 15-29. Why was it taken out this pay period and not the next one?
