It was on the phone, poor timing had me on a shuttle bus and I was getting bounced all around the back seat so I finally just outed myself...I was so rattled that I was literally rattled and just wasn't answering things very well at all...was supposed to be 15 minutes and it was only 12. I am sure I did bad enough that I won't get the job and I'm so upset at myself.
Why on earth were you on a shuttle bus at phone interview time? You should schedule it so you know you'll be uninterrupted and ready to go next time, OK?
Ditto. The person interviewing you perceives that you are not serious about the role. I hate when I have a scheduled ph interview and I ask the candidate if this is still a good time to talk b/c I am hearing bkg noise and they go "oh yeah I am just driving"
That is a bummer. I see everyone else has the same question as me though - how did you end up on a shuttle bus at your interview time? Was there not a scheduled time for the call?

it was scheduled, I had to step out to move my car and missed the shuttle bus back to work for 11:10, had to catch the next one at 11:30, the scheduled time of the interview...I should have waited for the next at 11:50 but that would put gone from my desk longer then just stepping out
Oh yeah, that sounds like it was avoidable, like by moving your car earlier or waiting for the next shuttle. Actually, sitting in your car for the interview would have been preferable. Most people don't conduct interviews at their desks, so unless you have an office door you can close, you would have been gone from your desk for it anyway.
Well, lesson learned, I guess, but sorry you have to learn it the hard way. Hopefully you didn't do as badly as you think.

We have all had one of those, and if we haven't, it is just a matter of time. Give yourself a break and live and learn. I am still a little mad at my mother for waking me from a dead sleep to answer a follow up from an interview when I was first looking for a "real" job because I was still out of it and completely said the all the wrong things.
