I've been lurking here forever and have wanted to post a few times but figured I should probably do an intro first.
About me:
I live in Madison. I'm training for the Princess Half. Due to surgery in October (not injury related) I'm not as far along as I would want... but I'm where I need to be program wise. I'm following Hal Higdons Novice half plan. My long run so far was 6 miles on Sunday. I'm slow compared to all of you speedsters! This is my first half. My first 5k was on Thanksgiving. I finished in just over 36 minutes. I'm pretty new to running.
I lost 20 lbs in 2012 and have about 30 to go. I also cross train at a group fitness gym (Kosama). And, like many of you, I'm on MFP.
Now, I feel I can post! You are all so inspiring! Thank you for that!!

Welcome! I'm new too, and we sound pretty similar. I'm training with the novice plan too for a half marathon in April. I'm wigging out a little bit even though I know by the time the half actually comes around I'll be good.

So glad to see some fellow Badgers. I'm a HUGE fan. I went to undergrad there, and it's how my DH bribed me back here (we go to almost all the football games plus a handful of bball/hockey games too).

Yay! My half is Feb 24. I'm terrified. I can't believe I only have 4 long runs left (7/8/9/10). Good luck! You'll be great! I'm kind of wishing mine was in April. :-p
