Totally random, but this reminds me of one of the Little House books where they make maple candy...in the snow? It sounded so good, I always wanted to try it!

You know what was awesome? They have this Winter Carnival in Quebec City or some such and DH and I went and they pour maple syrup in snow and swirl it around and you get to eat it!

Me too!
Those books were so cute. Now I almost feel like I should re read them for fun.
What's maple candy? Is it a hard candy, or is it toffee-like..?
It is a semi-crunchy hunk of maple sugar. Fucking delicious, and I love the texture.
LOVE this so much-when H and I had our mini-honeymoon in New Hampshire I bought a box of these (in the shape of maple leaves) and he had no idea why I was so excited!
I also love maple cream chocolates-for Valentine's Day every year my mom goes to a local candy place (Phillip's Candy for the locals) and gets me one dark chocolate maple cream and one milk chocolate maple cream.
